Staf Khusus Menteri Agama Gugun Gumilar visitation the residence of Amanda Andono, 50, a resident of Jalan Kramat 2, Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, Jakarta Selatan, on Monday (5/10/2026). The meeting took place at Amanda's house after she consulted the Metro Jakarta Selatan Resort over her plan to file a police report concerning a clash during the Maulid Nabi and haul recitation held at the aforementioned street.

Amanda, a resident who was caught in a dispute during the celebration, confirmed that the visit was carried out following his consultation with the Metro Jakarta Selatan Resort. He revealed that Mr. Gugun arrived at his house unannounced and stayed for a conversation to hear directly about what had happened to him.

"Beliau sudah sampai di rumah saya," Amanda said when contacted on Monday (5/10).

Pesan Keprihatinan dari expended Individuals

During the meeting, according to Amanda, Mr. Gugun conveyed his regret over the incident and stated that the Ministry of Religion leadership and its senior officials did not approve of such an event. He also expressed the hope that what Amanda experienced would not recur.

"Semua-exempt-with-their-side-do-not-agree-with-the-existence-of-an-event-like-this.hope-that-my-incident-will-be-the-last-one," he explained.

In the same breath, Amanda said the Special Staff of the Minister also stressed that the incident was expected to serve as a shared lesson for all parties involved, particularly the organizers of the celebration and the residents of the surrounding neighborhood.

"The directive from Mr. Gugun is that this incident should become a lesson for everyone," Amanda said.

This visit is a follow-up to Amanda's consultation at the Metro Jakarta Selatan Resort, which shows that the Ministry of Religion is monitoring the case that arose from the use of fireworks in the implementation of the Maulid and haul commemoration in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

Encouragement to Continue the Legal Process

Amanda stated that the Special Staff of the Minister gave a clear recommendation, namely that he should continue his police report without withdrawing it. According to him, Mr. Gugun also offered to accompany and supervise every stage of the legal process that Amanda would carry out, including the assistance needed in completing the report.

"He strongly advised me to keep going and to file with the police and Legal Aid. If there is any problem later, he will be there to supervise it," Amanda said.

Reporting Progress and Assistance

Amanda also said he was asked to submit information on the progress of the report process to Mr. Gugun. That way, he claimed, the Ministry of Religion could monitor the handling of the case that had been filed with the Metro Jakarta Selatan Resort.

In his statement, Amanda expressed his gratitude for the attention and support given by Mr. Gugun. He said the visit gave him confidence to continue pursuing the case through the channels available to the public, and that there was no intention to settle the dispute outside the legal process.

Amanda explained that the fireworks that sparked the clash were played during the implementation of the commemoration of the Maulid of the Prophet Muhammad and the haul in the Kebayoran Lama area. After the incident, he chose the legal route rather than a bilateral settlement with the other party.

Until this report was published, Amanda had not yet revealed the naming of the other party in the dispute. He only stated that the report process was continuing and that he would inform the Special Staff of the Minister regarding any developments.

Ministry of Religion Emphasizes Educational Impact

Through this visit, the Ministry of Religion emphasized that religious commemoration activities in the southern Jakarta area should not end in a clash involving residents. As reflected in Amanda's statement, the leadership of the Ministry of Religion and its senior officials stated that they do not approve of an event that leads to conflict among the people.

Amanda said the message he received was that the case would be followed up properly. He acknowledged Mr. Gugun's role as an extension of the Minister in handling complaints from the public related to religious activities.

As is known, the use of fireworks and firecrackers in public spaces is regulated by applicable national and regional provisions, and any disputes arising from their use can be processed through the police and the justice system. In Amanda's case, the report process continues to run after he received support from the Special Staff of the Minister of Religion.

The recording of the visit and Amanda's statement became a follow-up step after the police report process. Amanda said he would continue to communicate with Mr. Gugun at each stage of the case, and that he expects the report process to run well so that the incident does not recur at other religious commemoration activities.
