Praise for TNI Achievements amid Limited Resources
In his remarks, Dave expressed appreciation for the dedication shown by the armed forces while carrying out a range of duties under constrained conditions. According to him, the military institution has managed to complete its tasks and responsibilities despite numerous limitations in facilities and infrastructure.
“TNI has shown extraordinary achievements, completing all kinds of duties and responsibilities despite the limitations it faces,” said Dave Laksono.
He argued that the government therefore has an obligation to guarantee that the needs of the troops, particularly in terms of equipment, welfare, and education, are fulfilled with equipment and facilities in the most up-to-date condition. Dave emphasized that adequate facilities are part of efforts to keep national sovereignty firmly protected.
“That is the responsibility of the government to ensure that their equipment, welfare, education, infrastructure, and the tools they use are in the most up-to-date condition,” he explained.
Adaptation to Artificial Intelligence
Dave stressed that technological advancement must be matched by an increase in the competence of TNI personnel. He pointed to the current situation, in which the latest technologies, including artificial intelligence or AI, have been developing rapidly alongside internet networks that have spread across the world.
“Especially now, with the latest technology, with technological developments such as AI (artificial intelligence) and internet networks spreading across the world,” he revealed.
He further emphasized that this condition must be optimized, and that the capacity and capability of TNI soldiers need to be enhanced so that they are able to adapt to existing technology. With that ability, Dave said, soldiers can identify threats and carry out their functions to ensure that the sovereignty of the nation and the state is fully upheld.
“This is what must be optimized and increased: the capacity and capability of TNI soldiers to adapt to existing technology, so that they are able to identify and carry out their functions to ensure that the sovereignty of the nation and the state is truly fully implemented,” he continued.
Adaptation Linked to the Mandate of Sovereignty
Dave assessed that the ability to adapt to technology is closely linked to the implementation of TNI functions in safeguarding national sovereignty. In his view, soldiers need to be able to utilize technological devices and networks in order to detect and anticipate challenges to national security.
In the ceremony, Dave also attended the unveiling of new unit standards brought by TNI soldiers. The commemoration of the 81st anniversary of TNI was held in the Mabes TNI field, Cilangkap, East Jakarta. The event was followed by a doorstop interview with Dave Laksono.
The initiative from Commission I is expected to follow up on the discussion regarding military capacity and defense technology in the DPR. Dave emphasized that technological transformation should not only be pursued as a trend, but also managed seriously so that TNI personnel are able to operate it properly in carrying out the constitutional duties of the armed forces.
